A wonderful week. Steve has been a perfect host, always helpful to give us tips and hint to arrange the perfect vacation: tide, weather forecast, pubs and restaurants, beaches.
He taught us a funny Bahamian game using a sort of wire to hang the washing. We spent hours in the evening.
We did a fantastic trip in the boat with him, and we learnt lots of things about turtles, starfish, stingrays etc. etc.
He’s right. You come as a guest, you leave as a friend.

The boys & I loved our stay. Our 4 days in Exuma were a nice and relaxing change from our 3 days in Nassau at the Atlantis.
The full day tour (although expensive) was definitely worth it. Thank you for recommending them.
Both boys loved swimming with the sharks, and I loved the pigs!
Flo and Charlie helped us not miss our pups as much over the vacation. They were a perfect stand-in for our 2 labs.
Love the rescue work you do for the island dogs!.

We look for three things in an Airbnb. A congenial host, cleanliness, and location.
Steve was welcoming from the very first email! We met the rental in a clean condition with goodies in the refrigerator! The location is perfect because its near to the food store, and of course a short drive away from Jolly Hall Beach. The property is highly functional and well kept. Thanks Steve, and please continue to assist with fostering rescued dogs. We enjoyed our stay.

I really felt like home at Personal Touch. Steve is an amazing host and guide. All his recommendations have been wonderful and it really added a plus to my overall Exuma experience. He could teach others about hospitality as he excels at it. The biggest thanks to Steve for making my stay so amazing! I had all amenities I needed (small kitchen with stove, refrigerator, nice coffee maker and the WIFI worked very well. The location of the property is away from the busy downtown but with good connections by car, grocery store nearby. Thank you, Steve, will definitely come back.

From booking.com (The accommodation exceeded our expectation in all toppings. Not only did the host help us before we arrived, he also assisted us during our stay as a tour guide, landlord and mediator in all respects. He even went to the car rental to check the condition of the vehicle. Steve is an absolutely cool and helpful person who takes care of his guests like a family. The hot tub is beautifully located in the middle of plants with maximum privacy and the apartment is super cute. On arrival Steve already put drinks and a first breakfast in the fridge for us. The accommodation is clean, great location, large and just fancy. For me more than 10 stars and better than any resort)

I feel like my boyfriend and I are in a unique position review-wise because we split our time on Exuma between Hideaways and Da Sugar House (in that order). The reason we split our time was that we were worried about being too far from restaurants, bars, stores, etc. in George Town, and because we wanted to be close to the beach (Steve's place is on the opposite side of the highway, a short distance up a hill). If we could go back and change anything, however, we would stay with Steve at Da Sugar House for our entire stay.
First and foremost, Steve is the kindest, most helpful and resourceful VRBO/Airbnb host I've ever stayed with. We were blown away by his knowledge of the area / island, his willingness to share, and how out of his way he went to make sure we had the best time on Exuma. He reached out to me as soon as I booked with a ton of useful info (that I later referenced throughout our trip), and answered any questions I had immediately (including finding the closest liquor store selling bourbon and sending me a photo of their selection). When we were overserved at the fish fry and missed the tour we'd signed up for the next morning, he helped us find and arrange alternative plans (which ended up being our favorite day of the entire trip). I'm generally apprehensive about asking anything of VRBO/Airbnb hosts because I don't want to be a pain in the ass, but I recommend asking him anything because his knowledge and recommendations are ON POINT.
Because our first accommodations were pretty bare bones, it was such a relief to get to Steve's and find everything we could need (in particular because we'd already experienced the difficultly of finding certain things on Exuma): sunscreen, toilet paper, dish soap, snorkels (the newer models, too), beach chairs, umbrellas, ice, and a fridge stocked with beer, and more. This was a huge luxury and a kindness that saved us a lot of time and money.
I quickly saw that my reservations about staying on the hill side of the highway were wrong. Staying on the ocean side meant basically being on the highway. Staying at Da Sugar House (a five minute drive up the hill) was quiet and serene but still as close to stores, bars, etc. At night the deck outside our rooms was the perfect place to watch the stars, and waking up in the morning with the birds and trees was so peaceful.
I rarely write reviews, but this was a truly special stay. Do not sleep on Da Sugar House.

Da Sugar House impressed us Immediately!
A beautiful refuge in the middle of the 'forest', and outside Flo became a gorgeous habit when returning from the beach. She is so lovely, and we love her. Steve was always careful and present without being intrusive. The perfect host!! He left us in the fridge cold beers, water, eggs, milk and also a bottle of Italian Prosecco for the year end toast.

Da Sugar was exactly what we were looking for, secured, restful, quiet. The manager, Steve, has thought about everything we needed. Shower cap, needle and thread, bug spray, cooking out on the beach, beach umbrella, air-conditioning, everything. He was very responsive to any requests and yet unobtrusive. Thank you so much for your accommodation! Da Sugar House is incredible, like a little oasis off the road. Your recommendations for restaurants and activities were much appreciated and pursued. Your head of security, Flo, was a pleasant surprise and a delight to have around the house. It was an extra bonus after a long day at the beach to be greeted by a friendly pup when arriving back. Not only will we be recommending Da Sugar House to our family & friends, we will also be spreading word of how amazing this paradise is. We stayed 9 days at Steve's place and left with zero complaints and wonderful memories! Steve was attentive to our needs before we even arrived and was more than accommodating when we got there! Although this was not beach front property, it was in a perfect location near two public access spots, market, and plenty of restaurants. Being in Georgetown was the perfect location that allowed us to explore each side of the Island with a relatively short drive. Steve was more than helpful with awesome recommendations for restaurants, excursions, and companies to contact, and even provided us some beer and espresso! We found all our beach needs (umbrella, snorkelling masks, coolers, and towels) that helped us with our numerous beach excursions. I already miss relaxing on hammock with the perfect breeze and occasional visit from his loving dog Flo!

We stayed at Da Sugar House for two nights, the only problem was that it wasn’t long enough. From the moment we arrived we simply loved everything about the place. Both inside and outside was perfect, it’s like a little peace of paradise, where you can find peace and harmony.

Living like a local
Exuma is a new island for me. This was my first visit. Steve helped me feel right at home. He provided insight into things rarely written about in the tourist guide books. He even went out of his way to introduce me to the locals in the area.

What a fabulous trip to Da Sugar House. Steve is a great host. Every recommendation that he gave us was spot on and didn’t disappoint in any way.
If you go to see the swimming pigs, Fat Boy with his 3rocket engines, is the one to choose. What a guy, respectful to the environment, funny and entertaining, and a good sailor.
Met Luvvi next door, what a character, and colourful life she has led. Get her to tell you some stories. She was an extra in the Thunderball movie when it was filmed here.
Worth doing the scuba diving too. The locals are cultivating coral to try and future proof the reef.
Exuma Point is a recommendation for lunch, lovely food, service and location.
Flo loves a bone. Try and get her to sit first.
We will be back.

Da Sugar House was perfect. Cosy, safe, comfy, near Georgetown and the brilliant beaches (5mins) and Fish Fry the rocking food and jump up village. We hired a motor boat and spent days at the best beach bar in the Bahamas: the Chat and Chill.
The owner is so welcoming.

Arrive at Da Sugar House and you immediately get a feeling of tranquillity, this is the REAL Bahamas! Steve is the perfect host and can set you up with just about any activity the island of Exuma can offer, ask him where to eat and you’ll be able to fill your boots with the island food! The accommodation is generous with two lovely bedrooms, a large kitchen area and good bathroom, you won’t miss any facilities here! Beautiful lush vegetation surrounds the house, amazing butterflies and birds flit around and the beach is really close. I’d never been to the Bahamas before and can honestly say it’s breath taking, the water so clear and warm with stingrays gently gliding by as you sip a cold beer in the shallows ( and of course you get swimming pigs!). If you want to sample island life Bahamas style, you’ve got to go to Da Sugar House!

Since you left, the outside deck and tub have been installed, along with an external shower, and pathways to make moving around the property easier, and both bedrooms have had new A/C units installed.
